潮州八邑会馆第七届国内外事务组就职典礼 Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan The 7th Local And International Affairs committee Installation Ceremony

新加坡潮州八邑会馆第七届国内外事务组就职典礼于7月31日晚在醉花林俱乐部举行。内政部兼社会及家庭发展部政务部长吴培铭先生作为主宾出席。八邑会馆副会长沈茂强连任第七届国内外事务组主席。

到场观礼的还有国会议员谢秉辉先生、国会议员杨涴凌女士、国会议员林瑞莲女士以及前贸易与工业部政务部长张思乐先生、前新加坡国会议员林伟杰医生和各商界领袖、华社、潮社领导等。出席嘉宾330人。

吴培铭部长在致辞中谈到，国内外事务组自成立以来，推动了多项计划，包括“亚洲潮人企业家奖”以及与社科大学（SUSS）联办的“潮商大师班”，促进了潮人企业家精益求精的精神。

吴部长也指出，目前国际政治动荡不安，带动全世界经济的整体调整和供应链的重塑，在这样关键的时刻，政府和民间团体要更紧密，团结起来，适应新的世界环境。

新加坡潮州八邑会馆会长吴木兴表示，作为国内外事务组的发起人及首任主席，为一路走来的成就深感自豪。也对新一届执委提出了期许，“我们绝不能满足于现有的成果。展望未来，我期许新一届执委能更加积极有为，策划更多高质量的商贸交流与培训项目、举办有意义的分享与交流活动，并建立更多平台，让年轻一代潮商得以发光发热。”

国内外事务组主席沈茂強回顾了国内外事务组走过的十年，从首届潮州节的筹备到”潮人企业家奖”的创立，沈茂強感谢执委们的付出和默默耕耘，称他们以行动诠释了潮人精神。他说到：今天的就职典礼，有三重意义：致敬过往，感恩十年无私奉献的每一位执委；传承精神，将”甘为绿叶衬红花”的胸襟传递给新一届执委；展望未来：期待更多乡亲加入这个以奉献为荣的大家庭。

吴木兴会长也鼓励，年轻专业人士与企业家踊跃加入国内外事务组，贡献自己的创意与资源，建立长远的合作。这不只是一个商业平台，更是一个为潮人群体带来积极力量与共同进步的行动。

典礼当晚也举行了拍卖环节，两幅画作共筹得三万五千元运作基金。

The Installation Ceremony of 7th Local and International Affairs committee of Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan was held on the evening of July 31 at Chui Huay Lim Club. Mr. Goh Pei Ming, Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of Social and Family Development, attended as Guest-of-Honour. Mr. Kenny Sim Mong Keang was reappointed as Chairman.

The event welcomed over 330 distinguished guests, including Members of Parliament Mr. Edward Chia Bing Hui, Ms. Yeo Wan Ling, Ms. Sylvia Lim Swee Lian and former Minister of State for Trade and Industry Mr. Teo Ser Luck, former Member of Parliament Dr. Lim Wee Kiak, as well as business leaders and community representatives.

Mr. Goh Pei Ming acknowledged the committee’s contributions over the past decade, including initiatives like the Asia Teochew Entrepreneurs Award and the Teochew Business Masterclass co-organised with SUSS. He emphasized the need for closer cooperation between government and communities in today’s volatile global landscape.

President Dr. Derek Goh Bak Heng expressed pride in the committee’s achievements and hoped the new committee to be more proactive and capable, by planning more high-quality business exchange and training programs, as well as organizing meaningful sharing and networking activities.”

Chairman Mr. Kenny Sim Mong Keang reflected on the ten-year journey of the committee—from the preparation of the inaugural Teochew Festival to the establishment of the “Teochew Entrepreneur Award.” He expressed gratitude to the executive committee members for their dedication and tireless efforts, saying they exemplified the Teochew spirit through their actions.

President Dr. Derek Goh Bak Heng also encouraged young professionals and entrepreneurs to actively join the Local and International Affairs Committee, contributing their creativity and resources to build long-term collaborations. He emphasized that this is not merely a business platform, but a movement that brings positive energy and collective progress to the Teochew community.

A charity art auction held during the ceremony raised $35,000 in operating funds.
