国家发展部长、华社联络组主席徐芳达一行莅临指导 Minister for National Development and Chairman of the Chinese Community Liaison Group, Mr. Chee Hong Tat, and his delegation visited.

7月21日晚,国家发展部长、华社联络组主席徐芳达一行亲临潮州八邑会馆指导工作,陪同部长人员包括内政部兼社会及家庭发展部政务部长吴培铭以及国会议员蔡引舟先生。八邑会馆会长吴木興、前会长曾建權、署理会长吴佶财等13位董事热情接待了部长一行,在总务黄朝群的主持下,大家围坐一堂,在轻松融洽的氛围中展开交流。

吴木興会长向部长详细汇报了会馆未来发展的三大重点计划:
1. 全力筹办2027年第二十四届国际潮团联谊年会,借此国际平台展现新加坡潮人社群的凝聚力与文化自信;
2. 积极推进购置土地计划,筹建”潮州文化中心”,系统展示潮人精神,传承优秀传统文化,同时为社群活动打造现代化共享平台;
3. 筹划在会馆旗下成立公益慈善机构,扩大社会服务范围,更精准地帮扶弱势群体。

徐芳达部长对会馆的发展规划给予高度评价,对企业家们回馈社会的理念,以及成立慈善机构,服务不局限于潮州人的初衷表示高度赞赏。部长也表示,对于2027年国际潮团联谊年会,政府将全力支持。

交流中,徐芳达部长就社团发展提出三点建议:
1. 加强青年领袖培养,政府将推出青年领袖培训计划;
2. 推动社团现代化与数码化转型;
3. 持续促进华社和谐团结。

原定一个半小时的交流活动在热烈氛围中持续至两小时,与会者仍感意犹未尽。会馆将继续与华社联络组保持密切沟通,希望定期举办此类交流活动。

On July 21, Minister for National Development and Chinese Community Liaison Group Chairman Mr.Chee Hong Tat visited Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan, accompanied by Minister of State Mr.Goh Pei Ming and MP Mr.Cai Yinzhou. They were warmly received by President Dato Sri Dr. Derek Goh Bak Heng, BBM(L) and board members, with the meeting held in a friendly and open atmosphere.

President Goh Bak Heng reported to the Minister on three key future plans:

1 Host the 24th International Teochew Associations Conference in 2027 to highlight the unity and cultural pride of Singapore’s Teochew community;

2 Advance land acquisition to build a “Teochew Cultural Center” for preserving culture and supporting community activities

3 Establish a charity organization to expand social services and better assist vulnerable groups.

Minister Chee Hong Tat praised the Huay Kuan’ s plans, social commitment, and charity initiative, and pledged full government support for the 2027 Teochew Conference.

During the discussion, Minister Chee Hong Tat put forward three suggestions:

1 Strengthening youth leadership with government training programs;

2 Promoting modernization and digital transformation;

3 Continuing to foster harmony within the Chinese community.

The originally scheduled 1.5-hour dialogue extended to two hours amid an enthusiastic atmosphere, with participants eager for more. The association will maintain close communication with the Chinese Community Liaison Group and hopes to hold such exchanges regularly.
