八邑会馆出席庆祝马来西亚潮州公会联合会成立91周年庆典 The Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan Attended the 91st Anniversary Celebration of the Federation of Teochew Associations of Malaysia

16日晚举行联欢晚宴，来自全马的潮籍属会、雪兰莪州政要、商界领袖及巴生各社团负责人齐聚一堂，与会人数超过2000人。晚宴上，雪兰莪州务大臣拿督斯里阿米鲁丁为活动致开幕词，马潮联会大会值年主席兼巴生滨海潮州会馆会长拿督斯里郑明发、新加坡潮州八邑会馆会长吴木興博士、马潮联会总会长林家光先后发表致辞。

吴木興会长在致辞中回顾了1934年新加坡潮州八邑会馆作为创始成员，与马来西亚五地会馆共同创立马潮联会的历史。他指出，九十余年来，新马潮人共同见证了马潮联会从初创到发展壮大的辉煌历程。无论是在推动马来西亚经济发展、促进社会和谐，还是在传承潮汕文化方面，都充分展现了潮州人的担当精神。展望未来，吴会长坚信马潮联会将继续团结80万潮人乡亲，为马来西亚的繁荣发展做出新的贡献。

本会代表团成员包括：前会长曾建權、署理会长吴佶财、副会长洪静源以及副交际杨耀平。

From August 15 to 17, Dr. President of Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan Dr. Derek Goh Bak Heng, led a delegation to Klang, Malaysia, for the 91st Anniversary of the Federation of Teochew Associations of Malaysia (FTAM).

On the evening of August 16, a gala dinner was held with over 2,000 attendees, including representatives from Teochew associations across Malaysia, Selangor state officials, business leaders, and local community heads.

President Dr. Derek Goh Bak Heng delivered a speech, recalling the Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan’s role as a founding member, which, together with five Malaysian Teochew associations, established the Federation of Teochew Associations of Malaysia (FTAM) in 1934. He highlighted that over the past ninety-plus years, Teochews in Singapore and Malaysia have witnessed FTAM’s remarkable growth. In promoting Malaysia’s economic progress, fostering social harmony, and preserving Teochew culture, the community has consistently demonstrated the Teochews’ responsibility and spirit. Looking ahead, he expressed confidence that FTAM will continue uniting over 800,000 Teochews to support Malaysia’s development and preserve Teochew culture.

The Singapore delegation included Immediate Past President Mr. Chan Kian Kuan, Deputy Chairman Mr. Woo Chee Chay, Vice-President Mr. Ang Chee Guan, and Deputy Public Relations Secretary Mr. Patrick Yeo Yew Peng.
