《从亲历到理解:以个体经验走进华人移民社会研究》的学术讲座顺利举办 Seminar “From Lived Experience to Understanding: Exploring Chinese Immigrant Communities Through Personal Perspectives” was successfully held.

7月20日下午,八邑会馆与新加坡潮籍博士会于醉花林俱乐部联合举办主题为《从亲历到理解:以个体经验走进华人移民社会研究》的学术讲座。
本次讲座特邀新加坡南洋理工大学华裔馆及南洋公共管理研究生院高级研究员、华裔馆助理馆长张慧梅博士主讲。张博士毕业于新加坡国立大学,现任《华人研究国际学报》执行编辑,专注于华人移民历史、新马潮人社群、侨批与华商网络等研究领域。
讲座现场,张博士结合自身经历与研究,探讨了“局内人”如何通过亲历与观察深化对华人移民社会的理解,其独特视角与精彩分享引发在场听众热烈反响。活动吸引约70人出席,促进了学术交流与华人社会研究的发展。
On July 20, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan, together with the Singapore Teochew PhD Association, held an academic seminar at Chui Huay Lim Club, focusing on Chinese immigrant communities through the lens of personal experience.
The seminar featured Dr. Zhang Hui Mei, Senior Research Fellow and Assistant Curator at the Chinese Heritage Centre, Nanyang Technological University. A graduate of the National University of Singapore, Dr. Zhang is also Executive Editor of the International Journal of Diasporic Chinese Studies. Her research focuses on Chinese migration history, Teochew communities in Singapore and Malaysia, qiaopi, and Chinese business networks.
At the seminar, Dr. Zhang shared how lived experience and observation can deepen understanding of Chinese immigrant communities. Her insights resonated with the audience. Around 70 people attended, fostering academic exchange and interest in Chinese community studies.
